 Local Business Runs for Charity

Staff from Concept IT, a recruitment company in Dudley are celebrating after successfully completing a 5km run at the Baggeridge Country Park on 9th July in aid of children's charity Barnardo's. The team of 8, all of varying ages and levels of fitness are aiming to raise an impressive £1000 for the charity, and donations are still being received and counted.
Currently one in three children lives in poverty in the UK.  Money raised from the Baggeridge £5k run will help fund Barnardo's vital work with children, young people and their families in over 390 specialised projects in local communities.   As a member of the End Child Poverty coalition, Barnardo's are campaigning to influence both the public and government, in order to ensure government's own target of eradicating child poverty by 2020 is met.

"As a company we are committed to raising money for charity and I am really proud that the team has really taken the cause to heart and tackled this event head on.  Most of us have never entered a competitive race before and I'm delighted with our fundraising total.  Raising money for Barnardo's means a lot to me and I truly believe that every child deserves the best start in life and to be given the chance to fulfil their potential. With the right help, committed support and a little belief, even the most vulnerable children can turn their lives around.
